December 18, 2007 - SonicTempest.com v2.0!
You may not be able to tell from the look of it, but I gave the website a massive overhaul, completely re-working the "engine." The changes that you should (hopefully) notice:
- Music links will now open at the top of the page as opposed to a new window altogether. Navigating the site will not interrupt the music.
- "Current Projects" has been changed to "projects" to make room for a new section, as well as to keep track of past projects.
- An "about" section has been added. The bio is still under construction, but there's a nice, long FAQ if you're interested. Many thanks to those who submitted these questions, and I always welcome more. A curious mind is the best kind!
I will have more news for you very soon. For now, have a wonderful holiday season, and keep rockin'!

October 15, 2007 - Small update
Just a few small updates: Added a few upcoming shows to the list (mainly Mothers of Intention). I'm also playing in two cover bands (Dream Theater & Iron Maiden) on November 3rd at Chase Gymnasium (SUNY Oneonta). They will be short sets, but fun nonetheless! As far as I know, the show is free and open to all, so come check it out if you're in the area!
For those who weren't aware, my computer (that I do all my recording on) had been giving me problems for a while, which halted the recording process of Deep Within the Dream. Well, I'm happy to report that it's up and running, and I'm recording once again! I still face the problem of doing heavy-duty recording on a mediocre machine, but I'm doing the best I can with it, and I hope to have more clips up very soon.

CORRECTION: The show is at Fine Arts 212 on the SUNY Oneonta campus, and the Dream Theater cover band has been cancelled. I will only be playing with the Iron Maiden cover band.
August 12, 2007 - Deep Within the Dream - Instrumental Demo
I've put together an instrumental medley demo of my upcoming rock opera, Deep Within the Dream. You can check it out on the music page.

July 3, 2007 - ISC clip
I finally finished recording the guitar parts for Our Future Imperfect's cover of Star One's Intergalactic Space Crusaders.
Here's a clip of the solo.

July 1, 2007 - Sorcerian 44
Imagine that, two updates in three days!
Nothing big; just added a short recording to the music page. I recorded my own version of a song from an old PC game called Sorcerian (a classic Sierra game). Video game music has been a huge inspiration for me from a young age, and this tune alone has influenced me-- quite possibly more than any other. Hope you enjoy it!

June 28, 2007 - Small Update
Yes, I know... I'm terrible at updating this website. That's mainly because very little has been happening, so I really haven't had anything to report.
I've got Composer's Block(?) at the moment, so I've diverted my attention from composing to recording the tunes that I've finished writing thus far. I've now got 3 songs recorded (minus vocals). Unfortunately, I'm not willing to post clips yet, as I've yet to receive the copyright certificate back from the U.S. Library of Congress. (Also, it'd be nice to get some vocals recorded so it sounds more interesting). Sorry, but it'll be a few more months at the very least. I'll just say that I'm happy with the way it's coming out so far, and I think the rock opera will be well received once it's finished.
I was recently asked to become a part of Our Future Imperfect, a "Sci-fi -inspired Space Metal project from UK musician Mark Moriquendi." I'm honored to have been asked to record the guitar parts for a cover version of Star One's Intergalactic Space Crusaders. Much to my disappointment, the quality of the recordings aren't up to par with the ones mentioned above. Hopefully, Mark will be able to work some magic and make them sound-- well, better. I'll post the song as soon as it's finished. I should mention, though, that it's an intercontinental project, so it's hard to predict how long it will take.
And now, time to get back to recording. Enjoy the heat!

March 24, 2007 - New project announced!
So I guess it's been long enough since I mentioned my new project(s) in January; I'm morally obligated to at least share a little info with you. Unforunately, some of them didn't work out, but one of them is something I'm pushing really hard to bring to life:
I've been devoting just about all of my free time to the composition of a rock opera. I am still in the writing phase, but am also trying to record some of the completed tunes at the same time. Hopefully, I will be able to get some clips up soon.
I removed the clips from the music page. As I said, I hope to get some clips from the rock opera up soon.

March 10, 2007 - March belongs to the Mothers!
Two Mothers of Intention shows have been added. Come on down, have a few beers and a good time!

February 10, 2007 - ĄJuerga Flamenca!
On March 31st, I will be guest-performing at a "Flamenco party" with internationally acclaimed flamenco guitarist Maria Zemantauski. Afterward, I will play a short set of my own acoustic tunes.
Unfortunately, attendance to this event is by invitation only. Contact me for the details, and let me know if you'd like to attend; I might be able to reserve a few seats.

January 27, 2007 - No News is Good News!
This new year has already brought about a few new projects for me. I will not go into detail about them just yet, but expect to be properly updated within the next few weeks.
Oh, and hopefully the next update will include some new show dates.

12.05.2006 - Happy Holidays!
What a coincidence... one day after saying I won't be able to update the site for a long time, I stumble across new stuff. Yes, I got a hold of some pictures from the Nov 30 show, and added them to the photo gallery. Many thanks to the photographer, Shan-nonymous (the aim of my terrible pun is to point out that I only know the photographer's first name: Shannon). And yes, I know I look drunk in the pictures. Unfortunately, I wasn't.
Whether it's Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or any other holiday you're celebrating this winter season, I hope you enjoy the time with your family as much as I will-- uh, with mine. You know what I mean. Anyway, happy holidays, and see you in 2K7!

12.04.2006 - Last show of 2006
The show on November 30 marked the last show of 2006 for both the Mothers of Intention and myself. Our next show will probably be in February, but nothing is confirmed yet. Obviously, I will post any and all show dates on the site as soon as I find out about them.
Unfortunately, I don't expect to have anything with which to update the site for quite some time. I am still (as always) composing new tunes for Elementia, as well as my rock project, Sonic Tempest. I would like to make my newest tunes available on the site, but unfortunately, the process of copyrighting music is not a very quick one (and I'm not a very trusting person, as anyone who knows me will tell you). Thus, it will be a few months before I put the new songs in their entirety on the website. I will, however, try to get some small clips up as soon as possible.

11.20.2006 - New mp3 links
Set the audio links to open a small popup window as opposed to playing in the main page. This way, you can browse the site while listening to a song (before, when the page changed, the song stopped). This feature works fine in Internet Explorer, but to get it working properly in Mozilla Firefox, you must enable the Javascript setting "raise or lower windows" (Options > Content > Advanced Javascript Settings). If you don't want to enable this Javascript option, it's no big deal; the only difference is that the window won't regain focus after choosing a new song.

11.15.2006 - Show cancelled
Unfortunately, the Mothers of Intention will not be playing the General Clinton Pub on December 8. We had to cancel due to time conflicts within the band. So, if you were planning on checking out the show on the 8th, why not come to the show on Nov 30 at the Black Oak instead?

11.09.2006 - The New SonicTempest.com!
So, after months of putting off updating the website, I finally decided to pull an all-nighter and finish the new site once and for all.
I'd like to thank you all for being so patient over these past few months... I know the broken links were quite annoying. (It'd be nice if I had a real excuse; I was just lazy). Also, I'd like to thank Alex "Susan" Ruimy for his seemingly infinite patience when it comes to teaching me .php (or should I say: 'for fixing my countless mistakes and basically doing all the work on the site'). Feel free to send me a message via the contact page. Let me know what you think of the new site!
